Is sacroiliitis the same as iliac arthritis?

After being diagnosed with arthritis, I became extremely anxious, but I’m unsure whether I have sacroiliac arthritis or iliac arthritis. Could you please clarify whether sacroiliac arthritis and iliac arthritis are the same condition?

They are different. The symptoms and treatment approaches for these two conditions differ, as do their underlying pathophysiological mechanisms. Patients with sacroiliitis typically present with joint pain and functional impairment; however, the pathology of iliac arthritis is distinct—many manifestations involve aseptic inflammation. Symptomatic management may include heat compression therapy, adequate rest, avoidance of excessive physical activity, and prevention of prolonged sitting.
