How many days to treat chlamydia infection?
Disease description:
My daughter hasn't been feeling well these past couple of days. After a physical examination, it was found to be a chlamydia infection. How many days will this condition require treatment?
Chlamydial infections can be divided into Chlamydia trachomatis infection and Mycoplasma pneumoniae infection. Following Mycoplasma pneumoniae infection, patients primarily develop upper and lower respiratory tract infections. Most individuals recover within 10 to 14 days after receiving proper treatment; however, if symptoms are severe, recovery may take 20 to 28 days. In cases caused by Chlamydia trachomatis infection, recovery typically occurs around seven days after treatment.
