How many days will bleeding last while taking Yaz?
Disease description:
I'm allergic to condoms, so I decided to take Yaz (drospirenone and ethinyl estradiol) for contraception, but I experienced bleeding. How many days will the bleeding last when taking Yaz?
Breakthrough bleeding may occur when taking Yaz, but it usually resolves after about three months. Yaz is a short-term oral contraceptive composed of estrogen and progestin, which can alter the thickness of the endometrium. Spotting or breakthrough bleeding is possible with all oral contraceptives. Light bleeding typically does not require treatment, especially during the first three months. However, as the duration of use increases, irregular bleeding gradually diminishes and eventually disappears.
