A pregnancy test strip can generally detect pregnancy after a menstrual delay of more than one week. For women with regular menstrual cycles, a pregnancy test can be used one week after a missed period to determine whether they are pregnant. However, for women with irregular cycles, ovulation and conception may occur later, so pregnancy testing should be appropriately delayed in such cases.
