Disease description:

Spinal cord injury refers to damage of the spinal structure caused by various factors, leading to impairment of the neural structures and their functions within the vertebral canal. Due to vertebral displacement or bone fragments entering the spinal canal, the spinal cord or nerve roots become compressed, resulting in sensory and motor dysfunction in the thoracolumbar region or lower limbs. Patients typically present with abnormalities such as impaired motor and sensory function, urinary and bowel dysfunction, and spinal kyphotic deformity.
