Is duodenal ulcer a gastrointestinal disease?
Disease description:
I previously had a duodenal ulcer. Three days ago, I started experiencing abdominal pain. Last night, I had gastrointestinal bleeding with vomiting of blood, and now I have a high fever of 40 degrees Celsius. Is a duodenal ulcer a disease of the digestive tract?
Duodenal ulcer is a gastrointestinal disorder. The pain is usually located slightly to the right of the midline and may be accompanied by symptoms such as acid reflux and belching. In most patients, the pain quickly improves after eating, while those with severe symptoms may experience abdominal pain at night. Patients with long-standing duodenal ulcers may develop complications. For example, patients with ulcer bleeding may present with black, tarry stools or even vomiting blood.
