Yesterday, my friend went out for fun. I told him recently I've been having rectal bleeding, and he looked it up online and said it might be a rectal ulcer. I'm wondering, can a rectal ulcer be completely cured?

Rectal ulcers can generally be cured. If benign, with proper acid suppression treatment, a reasonable diet, and maintenance of healthy lifestyle habits, a complete cure is usually achievable. Chronic long-term inflammation of the rectal mucosa may lead to ulceration of the rectal mucosa, which typically presents with symptoms such as tenesmus, and passage of mucus, pus, and blood in the stool. Treatment for rectal ulcers mainly includes conservative management and surgical intervention. Patients should avoid eating overnight meals and refrain from consuming raw, cold, or unhygienic foods.
