Disease description:

Two years ago, I accidentally strained the muscles in my leg during exercise. Soft tissue injuries like this usually heal within about six months, but mine still hasn't recovered. I'm wondering if a soft tissue injury can still heal after two years?

Recovery is possible. In general, soft tissue injuries can heal. Soft tissues, including muscles and ligaments, may be bruised, torn, or ruptured due to external forces. Treatment varies depending on the severity of the injury. For torn ligaments or muscles in the limbs, it is best to immobilize the area with a cast for two to three weeks to promote healing. If a fracture occurs, surgery is usually required for full recovery. Therefore, when a soft tissue injury occurs, it is essential first to accurately diagnose the injury and provide appropriate treatment to achieve complete recovery of the soft tissue.
