Is a dorsal foot ganglion cyst serious?

A lump has appeared on the top of my foot, and after going to the hospital for examination, it turned out to be a ganglion cyst. I would like to know how serious a ganglion cyst on the top of the foot is.

This condition is generally not serious. For most patients, conservative treatment methods can be tried first. If there are no significant pain symptoms, many choose not to pursue treatment. However, it can have a noticeable impact on appearance and aesthetics. Sometimes, as the cyst enlarges, it may compress surrounding nerves and cause pain. The most common treatment is directly squeezing the cyst; if the fluid inside the cyst disperses, the protrusion will immediately disappear.
