How to Treat and Manage Tendon Sheath Inflammation
Disease description:
The hand began to experience pain, and I initially thought it was due to a minor injury or bump. Later, after an examination, it was diagnosed as tenosynovitis. How is tenosynovitis treated and managed?
Treatment is generally carried out with medication. It is also helpful to reduce the amount of hand work and lower the intensity of hand activities. Local heat application can be used; if pain persists despite heat therapy and movement becomes restricted, local corticosteroid injection (block treatment) at the site of tenosynovitis may be performed. If symptoms are not relieved after injection treatment and significantly affect work and daily life, surgical intervention can be considered.
