Can you be exposed to wind after gua sha or cupping?
Disease description:
I just had gua sha and cupping, and now I'm feeling extremely hot. I want to get some wind—can I be exposed to wind after gua sha and cuping?
Do not expose yourself to wind after gua sha or cupping; it is recommended to wait at least 24 hours before doing so. If the patient has severe damp-heat, strong pressure was applied during scraping, and the area remains tender upon touch after this period, an even longer waiting time is needed before exposure to wind. Drink a cup of hot water after treatment, which not only replenishes fluids lost during the procedure but also promotes metabolism and enhances the therapeutic effect of gua sha. Avoid alcohol, spicy or irritating foods, raw or cold fruits, and greasy foods.
