Cervical pain may cause adverse reactions such as abdominal distension and pain, decreased blood pressure, and nausea. However, the sensation of cervical pain is usually not very obvious because there are relatively few pain-sensitive nerves in the local cervical area. Without external stimulation, severe pain is typically not felt. When problems occur in the cervix, a sensation of heaviness in the lower abdomen or lower back pain may develop. Some individuals may also experience increased vaginal discharge or pain during sexual intercourse.
