What symptoms can occur with lower extremity venous thrombosis?
Disease description:
Recently, I've been feeling numbness in both legs and am worried it might be a lower limb venous thrombosis. What symptoms does lower limb venous thrombosis cause?
Lower extremity venous thrombosis typically presents with swelling and pain in the affected limb, coldness, numbness, and abnormal sensations. In more severe cases, it may lead to pulmonary embolism, causing symptoms such as chest tightness, shortness of breath, coughing, sputum production, and chest pain. Patients with lower extremity venous thrombosis are advised to rest in bed and appropriately elevate the affected limb to facilitate venous return. It is also important to maintain healthy lifestyle habits, follow a light diet, and ensure regular bowel movements. In more severe cases, medications may be taken under a doctor's guidance, commonly including anticoagulant and thrombolytic agents such as warfarin and low-molecular-weight heparin sodium.
