Dr. Guo Xiheng
If a thrombus caused by trauma is mild, thrombolytic medications such as urokinase or streptokinase may be used under medical supervision. Anticoagulant drugs, such as warfarin or low-molecular-weight heparin, can also be administered concurrently. For patients with severe symptoms, surgical intervention may be required. Prior to surgery, an inferior vena cava filter should be placed in the vessel lumen, followed by removal of the thrombus.
