What are the different types of stones?
Disease description:
A while ago, one of my friends was diagnosed by the hospital with bladder stones. These past couple of days, I've been feeling severe abdominal pain as well. After going to the hospital for a checkup, the doctor told me I have urinary system stones. What are the different types of kidney stones?
In clinical practice, stones can be classified by composition into calcium oxalate stones, which mainly form due to the combination of oxalate and calcium in the body. Infection-related stones are typically caused by recurrent infections. Uric acid stones primarily result from the low solubility of uric acid with salt-like substances, leading to crystallization and stone formation. Cystine stones arise mainly from abnormal cystine metabolism in patients and are generally inherited as an autosomal recessive trait.
