How does one get myocarditis?
Disease description:
I was recently diagnosed with myocarditis, but I don't know much about this condition. I'd like to know how one gets myocarditis?
There are many causes of myocarditis, including infectious factors. For example, infections caused by viruses, bacteria, and other pathogens can easily lead to viral myocarditis. If not treated promptly, lesions may develop into infectious heart muscle disease. Autoimmune diseases can also damage body tissues and ultimately result in myocarditis. Additionally, exposure to physical or chemical factors—such as taking chemotherapy drugs or undergoing chest radiation therapy—can affect the myocardium and lead to myocarditis.
