Disease description:

Recently, I noticed a small flesh-colored lump on my scrotum. I'm worried it might affect my life in the future, but I'm too hesitant to go to the hospital. I'd like to know—what could cause a lump on the scrotum?

A lump on the scrotum may be a boil caused by infection of hair follicles or sebaceous glands in the scrotal skin. If there is swelling, redness, pain, and a fluctuant sensation, incision and drainage should be performed. If there is only surface redness and induration, erythromycin ointment can be used for treatment. It could also result from genital warts; if the lump is small, it is necessary to determine whether the patient has a history of unprotected sexual contact, which may indicate possible genital warts.
