Disease description:

Recently, I've been feeling a sensation of fullness and pain in my scrotum. After a hospital examination, the doctor diagnosed me with hydrocele (fluid accumulation in the scrotal membrane). I would like to know how this condition should be treated.

The treatment for hydrocele within the scrotum should be determined based on the specific underlying cause. If the hydrocele is small and the patient is under two years of age, a wait-and-watch approach may be taken until the fluid gradually resolves spontaneously. For adult patients with a larger volume of hydrocele, surgical intervention such as tunica vaginalis flap surgery or hydrocelectomy (excision of the hydrocele sac) can be performed under medical guidance.
