Why is it called unstable angina?
Disease description:
I've been feeling chest pain these past couple of days, though the episodes aren't very frequent. The diagnosis says unstable angina. Why is it called unstable angina?
Unstable angina primarily refers to a condition in which patients experience episodes of chest pain that occur unpredictably or with varying patterns. For example, patients may frequently suffer angina attacks that last for several seconds or extend to several minutes, with no consistent duration. Additionally, the exact cause triggering the angina cannot be clearly identified. Hence, it is termed unstable angina.
