How to treat urethral stones
Disease description:
My father was recently diagnosed with ureteral stones. I'd like to ask, how can ureteral stones be treated?
For small ureteral stones, treatment can involve gradually expelling them from the body. However, for larger stones that are adhered to the ureter, lithotripsy and stone clearance using holmium laser under ureteroscopic guidance is required. Urethral stones refer to those located distal to the bulbous urethra. These stones are situated deep and are not easily palpable on the body surface. For example, if a posterior urethral stone is identified via urethroscope, an attempt can be made to push the stone into the bladder under urethroscope.
