Can trachoma symptoms resolve on their own?

Disease description:

I have mild trachoma and don't want to go to the hospital for treatment. I'm also unsure whether it can heal on its own. I'd like to know if trachoma symptoms can resolve spontaneously.

Trachoma symptoms do not resolve spontaneously. The onset and progression of trachoma involve an acute infectious phase characterized by eye redness, discharge, itching, and pain. After the acute phase, symptoms may appear to lessen, but in reality, scar tissue forms, leading to trachomatous scarring. This is not self-healing, but rather a transition from the acute phase to a chronic scarring stage.
