Acute trachoma symptoms
Disease description:
The diagnosis results came back, and my friend has acute trachoma. His eyes are slightly uncomfortable, so I'd like to learn about the symptoms of acute trachoma.
Acute trachoma symptoms include tearing. Common symptoms are photophobia, tearing, foreign body sensation, increased mucopurulent discharge, eyelid swelling, conjunctival congestion, and extensive proliferation of papillae and follicles on the tarsal conjunctiva. As the disease progresses, when conjunctival inflammation subsides, extensive scarring forms on the conjunctiva, leading to severe dry eye symptoms and ocular dryness. If the cornea is damaged, it may result in decreased vision or even blindness.
