Can I eat normally 20 days after gastric perforation surgery?
Disease description:
It's been 20 days since my gastric perforation surgery, and I don't want to eat liquid food anymore. Can I start eating regular meals? Is it safe to eat normal food 20 days after gastric perforation surgery?
Twenty days after surgery for gastric perforation, patients can resume normal eating. However, they should avoid overeating and instead eat small meals frequently, avoiding coarse, excessively cold, hot, or highly irritating foods. Patients should keep their abdomen warm, especially at night, and consume light, easily digestible foods. After surgery, patients should follow a diet of low-fat, low-sugar, high-protein, and high-vitamin liquid foods. A follow-up gastroscopy is required after six months to evaluate the pathology at the site of perforation. If malignancy is found, further treatment will be necessary.
