The volume of ejaculate during sexual intercourse and masturbation is the same, but masturbation should be kept to a minimum. Sperm is produced in the testes, while semen is formed from secretions of the prostate, seminal vesicles, and urethral glands. Normal semen is milky white or light yellow in color. During sex, ejaculation occurs as a result of sexual activity, and during masturbation, sexual arousal also leads to ejaculation—the semen expelled in both cases is indeed identical.
