Is itchy ears a sign of liver fire?
Disease description:
Recently, I've been feeling severe itching in my ears. I heard that if a person has excessive liver fire, it may cause ear itching. I'd like to ask, is ear itching caused by excessive liver fire?
Itchy ears are not caused by liver fire. Ear itching is a common symptom of ear-related conditions, and may be caused by acute or chronic eczema, cerumen impaction, cholesteatoma of the external auditory canal, foreign bodies in the ear canal, suppurative otitis media, and other conditions. Patients may experience symptoms such as pus discharge from the external auditory canal, impacted earwax, foreign bodies in the ear canal, scab formation due to trauma in the ear canal, or epithelial debris. These factors can irritate the skin of the external auditory canal and the eardrum, leading to localized pain, itching, tinnitus, hearing loss, and a sensation of ear blockage.
