What is gallbladder adenomyosis?
Disease description:
A friend of mine has recently been feeling unwell. After going to the hospital for a checkup, he was diagnosed with gallbladder adenomyomatosis. What is this condition?
Gallbladder adenomyosis, generally referring to adenomyomatosis of the gallbladder, is a benign condition characterized by thickening of the gallbladder wall. It usually does not cause clinical symptoms and is typically discovered incidentally during routine physical examinations. In most cases, observation without specific intervention is recommended. However, if the patient's secretory function is impaired, treatment with laparoscopic cholecystectomy may be necessary.
