My buddy and I went to the hospital for a medical checkup today, and the results showed he has hepatitis B "big three positives." What should be done for someone with "big three positives"?

Dr. Jin Zhongkui
"Big three positives" refers to hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg), hepatitis B e antigen (HBeAg), and hepatitis B core antibody (anti-HBc) all being positive. When someone has the "big three positives," if there are no clinical symptoms or signs, liver function remains relatively normal, and liver histology shows no changes or only mild alterations, the individual is considered a hepatitis B virus carrier. In such cases, special treatment is usually not required, but regular follow-up examinations at the hospital are recommended. However, if obvious symptoms, signs, or abnormal changes occur, antiviral medications should be taken under a doctor's guidance, such as entecavir tablets or tenofovir tablets.
