How to manage neonatal jaundice
Disease description:
My baby recently seems to have a yellowish skin tone, and I'm not sure if it's jaundice. I'd like to ask how neonatal jaundice should be managed?
Neonatal jaundice can be treated with medications such as phenobarbital and live combined bifidobacterium powder under the guidance of a doctor, which can reduce bilirubin levels to some extent and thereby alleviate jaundice. Additionally, phototherapy may be administered as prescribed to lower serum bilirubin; however, phototherapy may easily cause adverse symptoms such as fever, diarrhea, and rash.
