Left kidney tumors usually require nephrectomy, depending specifically on the size of the tumor. If the tumor is large or protrudes into the kidney, removal of the entire kidney may be necessary to achieve effective treatment. However, if the left kidney tumor is small and protrudes outward from the kidney, complete nephrectomy is generally not required; removing the tumor alone is usually sufficient.
