What should I do about a left kidney tumor?
Disease description:
My grandmother has recently been complaining of stomach pain and discomfort, along with loss of appetite. After finally managing to afford medical tests, she was diagnosed with a left kidney tumor. I would like to know what should be done about a left kidney tumor?
When a left kidney tumor is detected, surgical treatment should be performed as early as possible, as surgery is the optimal treatment approach for left renal tumors. If the left kidney tumor is in the early stage, confined within the renal parenchyma without invasion of surrounding organs or damage to the renal pelvic mucosa, partial nephrectomy may be performed. However, if the left kidney tumor is in an advanced stage and the opportunity for surgery has been lost, targeted drug therapy can be used to alleviate symptoms of advanced tumor and help prolong survival to some extent.
