How to treat milk crust (infantile eczema)
Disease description:
My daughter has red, scaly patches all over her face from milk crust (infantile eczema), and it looks really uncomfortable. I'd like to treat it—can you advise how to treat milk crust?
Milk eczema, also known as infantile eczema, is mainly treated with general management and medication.
1. General management: Clean the baby frequently, use moisturizers appropriately, dress the baby in cotton clothing, promptly wipe away milk residue from the face, and mothers who are breastfeeding should maintain a light diet.
2. Medication: For more severe cases of infantile eczema, weak-potency topical corticosteroid creams may be applied locally as directed by a physician, such as hydrocortisone butyrate cream or compound clobetasone propionate cream.
