Is frequent blinking and dry eyes a symptom of excessive liver fire?
Disease description:
I often find myself unable to control my emotions, and this has been happening frequently lately. I read online that it might be due to excessive liver fire. I would also like to know whether frequent blinking and dry eyes are symptoms of excessive liver fire.
Frequent blinking and dry eyes are not symptoms of excessive liver fire. Dry eye syndrome is mostly caused by yin deficiency of the liver and kidneys. Treatment primarily focuses on nourishing yin and promoting body fluid production. Moisturizing herbs such as mint and mulberry leaf can also be used for local warm compresses. Traditional Chinese medicine shows satisfactory efficacy for dry eye syndrome. Clinically, adjunctive treatment with artificial tears can achieve better results. Patients are advised to drink more water, get adequate rest, avoid staying up late, and maintain a regular sleep schedule.
