Mild lumbar osteophyte formation is not a serious condition. Generally, people over middle age may develop mild osteophyte formation in the lumbar spine. Younger individuals who maintain poor sitting posture for prolonged periods or overwork may also experience mild lumbar osteophyte formation. However, this condition usually does not produce any specific symptoms, often shows no obvious signs, and is therefore difficult to detect.
