Can swollen and painful gums caused by "heatiness" heal on their own?
Disease description:
The child hasn't been drinking enough water recently and is suffering from severe gum swelling and pain, but doesn't want to go to the hospital. Can gum swelling and pain caused by "excess internal heat" heal on its own?
Gingival swelling and pain caused by "heatiness" usually resolve on their own. When a person experiences "heatiness," their immune system becomes weakened, which may trigger an acute episode of pre-existing chronic gingivitis, leading to swollen and painful gums. Once the symptoms of "heatiness" subside, the body will return to normal. However, if gum swelling and pain persist for several days without complete resolution, timely treatment with appropriate medications, including anti-inflammatory drugs, should be initiated.
