What causes pain in the sole of the right foot?
Disease description:
There is no sensation of stepping on a hard object, but pain has appeared on the sole. What could be causing the pain in the right foot sole?
Pain in the sole of the right foot may be caused by bone spurs in the right foot radiating to the sole. Alternatively, it could result from intense physical activity causing strain or rupture of the Achilles tendon. If there is a clear history of trauma, one should consider whether the pain is due to foot injury. If not, prolonged standing might be the cause. Some patients suffer from bone spurs, which are more common among middle-aged and elderly individuals and can be clearly observed on X-ray as bony projections. These bone spurs can irritate the heel and lead to pain in the sole of the foot.
