What to do for acute pleurisy
Disease description:
Today I suddenly developed chest pain, and I'm worried it might be caused by acute pleurisy. What should I do for acute pleurisy?
Acute pleurisy can be treated with oral medications. For tuberculous pleurisy, treatment may include streptomycin tablets or isoniazid tablets as directed by a physician. If acute pleurisy is severe and causes pleural effusion, thoracentesis may be required. During treatment, attention should be paid to diet, avoiding spicy and greasy foods.
