If a newborn's jaundice is too high but classified as physiological jaundice, special treatment is generally not required, as it usually resolves gradually on its own. However, if it is pathological jaundice, phototherapy with blue light can be used, or medications may be administered under a doctor's guidance to alleviate symptoms. Commonly used medications include albumin and gamma globulin. In more severe cases, such as those caused by severe hemolytic disease in newborns, blood exchange therapy is typically necessary.
