What are the symptoms of pleural thickening?
Disease description:
Recently, I've had a persistent cough. After getting a chest X-ray, I was found to have thickened pleura. I would like to know what symptoms are associated with pleural thickening?
Most patients with pleural thickening do not exhibit obvious symptoms and signs. However, when associated with lung or pleural infection, symptoms of infection may appear, such as chills, fever, cough, and sputum production. If pleural thickening occurs after surgery, patients may also experience chest pain, chest tightness, shortness of breath, and numbness in the chest area.
