The difference between breast cysts and tumors
Disease description:
Recently, I've had some chest pain and went for a check-up, which revealed a breast cyst. I'd like to know what the difference is between a breast cyst and a tumor.
The difference between breast cysts and tumors lies in the following: Breast cysts are lumps caused by milk accumulation and are considered a benign condition. Tumors generally refer to new growths formed by excessive proliferation of local tissue cells under the influence of various tumorigenic factors. These new growths often appear as space-occupying masses, also known as neoplasms, and can be either benign or malignant.
