Dr. Qi Zhirong

Early symptoms of brain tumors include headache, visual disturbances, vomiting, mental disorders, limb weakness, or numbness.

1. Headache: Headache is a common early symptom of brain tumors, often presenting as intermittent episodes. It may persist for a prolonged period but generally does not significantly affect daily activities.

2. Visual Disturbances: Brain tumors can cause increased intracranial pressure, obstructing venous return in the eyes and damaging the visual cells of the retinal tissue, resulting in vision loss.

3. Vomiting: Due to space-occupying intracranial lesions compressing surrounding tissues and increasing intracranial pressure, vomiting may occur.

4. Mental Disorders: In the early stages of a brain tumor, patients may experience mental disorders such as memory loss, difficulty concentrating, slowed reactions, apathy, reduced intelligence, and changes in personality.

5. Limb Weakness or Numbness: If the brain tumor affects motor nerves or the motor cortex, patients may experience limb weakness or numbness.

The occurrence and severity of these symptoms vary among individuals, and different types of brain tumors may present with varying symptom profiles. When these symptoms appear, timely medical consultation and further diagnostic evaluation and treatment are necessary.
