After rhinoplasty, it is important to keep the nasal area dry and avoid touching it with hands to prevent infection. At the same time, antibiotics may be taken under a doctor's guidance to prevent infection; commonly used medications include amoxicillin and cefradine. Within 24 hours after surgery, an ice pack can be applied locally for cold compression to help reduce pain, swelling, and other symptoms.
