Symptoms of stage 5 IgA nephropathy
Disease description:
My friend has kidney disease and is currently hospitalized. What are the symptoms of stage 5 IgA nephropathy?
Stage 5 IgA nephropathy is typically characterized by oliguria or anuria and body weight loss. In stage 5 IgA nephropathy, most glomeruli have developed global sclerosis or severe renal failure, often approaching uremia. As the condition worsens, patients commonly experience gross hematuria, elevated uric acid levels, and symptoms such as dizziness, cough, chest tightness, shortness of breath, and swelling in the hands and feet.
