How to treat bile duct tumors
Disease description:
My aunt was diagnosed with a bile duct tumor at the hospital. I'm very worried about her health and want her to receive treatment as soon as possible. How is a bile duct tumor treated?
Bile duct tumors can be classified as benign or malignant. For benign tumors, surgical resection is a common treatment approach. In cases of malignant tumors where complete surgical removal of cancer cells is not possible, additional treatments such as radiotherapy and chemotherapy are required. However, benign bile duct tumors have a relatively high recurrence rate and carry a certain risk of malignant transformation. Early diagnosis of malignant bile duct tumors is relatively difficult, resulting in a generally poorer prognosis.
