It is still possible to undergo hair transplantation even if you have thinning hair. Hair transplants typically use healthy hair follicles taken from the back of the head (the occipital region), as the hair on the back and sides of the scalp is generally resistant to hair loss. Therefore, as long as there is sufficient donor hair in the occipital area, a hair transplant can be performed. Using minimally invasive techniques, healthy hair follicles are implanted into the scalp. Once these follicles fully integrate with the scalp, they will begin to grow new hair, resulting in thicker and fuller hair.
