It is possible to experience hair loss after hair transplantation.

Hair transplantation involves extracting healthy hair follicles from the back of the patient's own head and transplanting them into the balding areas. The newly transplanted follicles typically retain their original characteristics and will regrow hair after a certain period following surgery. However, after transplantation, hair will undergo a shedding phase, which is a normal physiological phenomenon. The transplanted follicles need time to adapt to their new environment before re-entering the growth phase. During this time, some of the transplanted follicles may shed, but hair will subsequently regrow.

Hair transplantation does not address the underlying causes of hair loss, such as genetic factors, hormonal imbalances, or unhealthy lifestyle habits. If patients continue to have these contributing factors after surgery and do not implement effective interventions or adjustments, their existing natural hair may continue to be affected and fall out.

To minimize post-transplant hair loss, it is recommended to maintain a regular sleep schedule, eat a balanced diet, and avoid excessive fatigue and mental stress. Proper scalp care and regular follow-up visits are also important for early detection and management of hair-related issues. If hair loss persists or worsens, timely consultation with a specialist doctor for evaluation and treatment is advised.
