What are the initial symptoms of esophageal cancer?
Disease description:
Recently, my mother-in-law has been having difficulty swallowing food and feels like there's a foreign body sensation while eating. She suspects it might be esophageal cancer and wants to know what symptoms appear in the early stages of esophageal cancer.
The main early symptoms of esophageal cancer include:
1. A sensation of obstruction when swallowing food, especially noticeable when eating dry foods.
2. A feeling of food sticking or a foreign body sensation during swallowing of food or liquids; this symptom usually resolves after eating or drinking.
3. Dryness and pain in the throat.
4. Needle-like or pulling pain behind the breastbone.
