The affected sites of hemangiomas and vascular nevi are different. Hemangiomas occur inside blood vessels, while vascular nevi develop on the skin. Moreover, when pressed, hemangiomas may fade or disappear in color, whereas vascular nevi typically show no significant color change under pressure.
