Yellow croaker usually refers to the yellow catfish (Pelteobagrus fulvidraco). For esophageal cancer patients whose condition is in an early stage or has been promptly treated, resulting in stable disease and relatively normal eating ability, and who are not allergic to fish, consuming yellow catfish is generally acceptable. However, it's recommended to eat it in moderation and prepared in a mild, bland manner. If the patient's esophageal cancer is severe and they can only consume liquid or semi-liquid foods, eating yellow catfish is generally not advised, as the fish is relatively small and improper preparation may irritate the esophagus.
