What causes candidiasis vaginitis?
Disease description:
I've noticed increased vaginal discharge over the past couple of days. After a medical check-up, the doctor diagnosed me with candidal vaginitis. What causes candidal vaginitis?
Candidal vaginitis refers to candidal vaginal inflammation. Candidal vaginal inflammation is usually caused by infection with Candida albicans due to the use of inadequately sterilized toilet paper or sanitary napkins, poor hygiene during sexual activity, or contact with contaminated clothing and personal items, leading to vaginal microbial imbalance. Long-term use of medications such as corticosteroids or broad-spectrum antibiotics can easily disrupt the body's normal microbial flora, reduce immune resistance, and thereby lead to candidal vaginal inflammation.
