Nabothian cysts, also known as cervical Nabothian cysts, usually result from long-term inflammatory stimulation causing blockage of glands, leading to cyst formation. These cysts are typically very small and do not present obvious clinical symptoms. Regular follow-up examinations are recommended, including annual cervical cancer screening. If the cyst is large, treatment options include surgical procedures such as laser surgery, or in an outpatient gynecological setting, puncturing the cyst with a needle to drain the contents, followed by topical application of anti-inflammatory medication.
